ROCKSFEST 2008
On Saturday 6th September MPYEP held 'Rocksfest 2008' as part of the Millers Point Festival. Rocksfest is an ongoing programme offering Millers Point youth first-hand experience in event management.
This year's event was an art exhibition with local artists invited to submit work on the history, heritage and community of Millers Point.
Rocksfest 2008 featured paintings and photography by Fort Street Primary School students, young people that attend the Millers Point Youth Centre as well as adults in the KGV art group.
Despite bad weather many people came to the exhibition and voted for their favourite work. First, second and third prizes were awarded across three categories.
Once again Rocksfest was a great community success.

ROCKSFEST 2010
Rocksfest is an annual event showcasing the talents of local young people offering Millers Point youth first-hand experience in event management. This year Rocksfest 2010 features a screening of a documentary produced and filmed by local young people and a series of short films created by Fort Street Public School. We have been very fortunate to receive support from Metro Screen and Sydney Theatre Company where the event will be held. Tickets can be purchased online at www.sydneytheatre.com.au/rocksfest all proceeds go towards funding future Rocksfest events.
ROCKSFEST 2011
Rockfest 2011 invites the young people of Millers Point to explore their neighbourhood through the medium of still photography. By photographing their street, their home, their neighbours, what they do and who they are, we’ll create a story of a place and a snapshot in time from the youth of Millers Point. Throughout this project we invite all residents of Millers Point to get involved. If you have a story to tell or an event to publicise and would like to be photographed by our talented group of young artists, please get in touch with us at info@millerspointpartnership.org.au or 02 92772542. This program aligns with the MPYEP objective to empower young people to make active and positive choices. (Photograph by Monty, Millers Point)
